[CASE STUDY] Pic Stitch Increases Revenue 159% Through Mobclix Exchange

A newly-announced Walgreens QuickPrints partner, Pic Stitch has grown to be a household name among photo collage apps. With 32 different layouts and 11 different photo ratios, its simple UI and photo-sharing plugins have given it over 9-10 million downloads in the past year its been in the app store.

Since Pic Stitch came on board as a Mobclix premium partner in February 2012, we’ve been constantly working with them on ways to increase their revenue. Below are a couple of ways we helped drive larger revenue and eCPMs for Big Blue Clip’s hit app, Pic Stitch.

Ad Strategy:
We recommended two new opportunities when Pic Stitch came on board to help optimize their campaign:
1. A fullscreen ad unit while the image is being saved. Since the user knows there is downtime during this period, we wanted Pic Stitch to to take advantage of the expected downtime while creating an opportunity to earn double the revenue.
2. A static 320×50 ad banner while users were adding features to their photo. This addition doesn’t hinder user experience, and helps promote within prime real estate.

Just two weeks after the 2 new ad units were released and updated, overall Pic Stitch impressions increased 8%, eCPMs increased 165%, and revenue increased a whopping 159%–the highest revenue with the Mobclix Exchange to date!
By taking advantage of multiple opportunities for in-app advertising without hindering user experience, Pic Stitch was able to successfully blow their eCPMs and revenue out the water–all while remaining one of the top, FREE photo collage apps in the app store today.
