Motion 9 Studios’ highly rated app, Kinetic Balls, quickly made it to the number one position in the App Store after release. And no wonder, it’s a fun game and it’s free. Furthermore, they’ve introduced many updates since it’s release, helping maintain their customer base.

  • Monthly Downloads: 1.25 Million
  • Monthly Ad Impressions: 17.3 Million

We interviewed the app’s creator:

1) What inspired you to build the app?

“Re-thinking the newtons cradle app played in childhood, we wanted to emulate the experience leveraging the touch interface capabilities and present it in a creative manner to the customers.  Many have never seen an app with numerous skins that is also available in the App Store for FREE!!”

2) Why does the ad revenue model make sense for you?

“The ad revenue model is assessed to a major revenue stream for any genre of apps, given the high visibility and exponential market cap.”

3) Why did you choose Mobclix?

“It’s the only platform with the major ad networks that offers 100% fill rate with a high yield in eCPM rate. It benefits the publishers because they can always expect a full inventory with a higher CPM value than competitors. Especially for apps such as kinetic balls with a CTR of 7% and above, it does add a lot of value to the business.”

4) What tips do you have for other developers?

“Envision the mobile industry as a great tool to customize technology to benefit customers, besides just making apps used on a day to day basis. The better the idea, the more its shared and the greater mileage it provides to the company which produced it. “

I downloaded Kinetic Balls to see how the developer integrated MobClix into their app and i see that they're using AdMob adverts. Not what i expected to see!
