PlayGameSite, maker and distibutor of many popular social game apps, is our newest Featured Mobster! Their Android photo app, Photoid, was recently featured in Google’s Android Marketplace. Photoid is an easy to use, powerful photo editor with clipart, frames, rich effects and stickers. It is designed for users to create and share photo art, with quick social connections to facebook and flickr.

1) What inspired you to build the app?
After developing multiple applications, we began experimenting with different ideas that we saw demand for in the marketplace. Our developers put a lot of thought and effort into the design and concept of the Photoid app. At the launch of this app, we instantly saw traction and our users’ feedback was very encouraging. We knew we came up with a great idea so we have continued to put effort into the development and updates of the app. Keeping users engaged and motivated to come back is key to app success.
2) Why does the ad revenue model make sense for you?
After trying multiple different app monetization strategies, we found the Advertisement revenue model works the best for us. We make the most money, get payments easily and receive more downloads through the free ad-supported model.

4) What tips do you have for other developers?
Keep experimenting. The app marketplace changes quickly so make sure you’re always thinking of the next great idea. Also, releasing your app quickly can be the advantage you need. New apps are added everyday and in order to get the most downloads, you need an exciting and engaging app that caters to a broad audience…beat your competition to it. And lastly, never stop improving your app. Constantly ask for user feedback and release updates.
