Live speaker sessions. Demo on demo on demo at our high-traffic corner booth. Redefining mobile—after hours—with 1,500 others at Marmalade Bar. Guiding attendees through our mobile-to-screen game, Aero. Educating MWC on the Velti brand. And of course, admiring the beauty of the Mobile World Capital, Barcelona.

Despite our annual attendance at MWC, our presence this year felt—well—incomparable to the rest. Maybe it was our larger than ever Velti fam, or our fresh new collateral, or our CEO Alex Moukas on panel; whatever it was, we’re leaving with nothing but excitement towards the future of mobile, and Velti.

Read on to relive our incredible week at Mobile World Congress 2012!



Our CEO, Alex Moukas, was at the first advertising session at MWC: Mobile in the Marketing Mix: Does having an app count? Accompanied by other industry experts, from ESPN to Ogilvy, they discussed the potential of mobile in a brand’s cross-platform marketing strategy.

If you were roaming the floors of the exhibitor halls, we hope you had a chance to stop by the Velti booth 7C58, App Planet Hall. If not, we’ll tell you what you missed out on: 4 days of mobile booth goodness, including 3 conference rooms, 4 demo stations, touch-screen monitors, and an interactive mobile-to-screen game. We had live product demos of our mGage platform, the Velti Mobclix exchange, and our cross-platform mobile promotions solution. Our interactive game had users target their correct audience by using their own smartphone as a controller—and if you were first on the leaderboard at the end of the day, you won an iPad 2!



After Day 2 of the conference was over, we headed over to Marmalade Bar to help GoMo News throw one of the biggest parties of MWC: the GoMo News Blender Party, sponsored by yours truly! Attendees received Velti bucks to use for free drinks, spending the night mingling with the mobile industry’s finest.
