With mobile devices constantly at the palm of our hands, it’s hard not to ignore the advances that brands and retailers have taken to try to reach the everyday consumer. From SMS campaigns to QR codes to mobile specific apps and sites, marketers have been developing innovative and engaging ways to make their messages relevant. And the mobile marketing industry is only poised to keep growing from here.
It was just one year ago that Velti went public and started trading on NASDAQ (VELT)–and since then, the growth hasn’t stopped. Along the way, we’ve welcomed Air2Web, CASEE and MIG to the team, delivered national campaigns for Subway and National Geographic, and now, our very own CEO, Alex Moukas, has landed the cover of Mobile Marketing Magazine!
Moukas sits down with David Murphy to talk about Velti’s incredible year, the mGage™ mobile platform behind the success, the tremendous growth predicted for the mobile marketing industry, and where Velti’s end-to-end game fits into it all.

- On Velti’s acquisitions throughout 2011: “We are the best capitalized company in the sector, and that allows us to look at some of the great companies and management teams out there and bring them into the Velti family.“
- On the Velti mGage platform: “It contains 50m lines of code, and we release a new version every six to eight weeks, incorporating new business practices, and new tools that clients tell us they need as they learn the lessons from the campaigns that they run.“
- On companies warming up to mobile in their marketing mix: “The good news is that at a macro level, customers now see that mobile needs to be a core part of their spending, rather than part of their innovation spending…As the saying goes, no-one ever got fired for buying TV.“
